Weatherford Ice Fest 2010

Dang Bro! It freaking worked, well kind of worked. Sketchy, tough, steep, thin ~ Melissa wouldn't get on it, but she ran belay. Check out the blood in my Goat-T ~~ Ha Ha, Fist Sized Chunk of Ice Popped me right on the chin. I am dang lucky it didn't get me in the eye. Safety First!

Rock and Ice 2009 ~ Ouray, Colorado

Great Trip ~ Spent the first day testing the water with the knee. Things seem to be ok. By the end of the trip I had gotten back on to some Doubles and felt confident. The ice was sketchy the first day, but things got better the following day. On our last day Ole was knocking on our door and ready to try some ice. It was wonderful to see someone enjoy the Ice like we do. Next off to Telluride for a day in the bowl. Blast Man, and I am sure Ole will join us again. I know the Gear Store (Ouray Mountain Sports) want to see him : )

Fall 2009 - Grand Canyon, Zion, Bryce

Awesome Trip.
Just too Freaking Short.
So many things to see, to do, to experience. There is so much out there and we want a piece of it all. We crammed (I don't know) maybe 5 National Parks into a week. It was amazing. And we did get to see a lot. We wanted more. We tried a new sport, Canyoneering! Well, we really don't TRY anything; we jumped in with both feet. We went a little further than we were told to go, but we kept wondering 'what is past the next corner ', What I am getting at is, there are a couple big things that we both want to do, but to get there we will have to go a little further than we are use to going. Plus, I don't want to hold you back on anything and I think I am on something you have wanted for too long. It is time, NOW! TODAY! NOW! are you with me? Am I with You. Do you have any idea where this is going?? Just click the link. Merry Christmas, and I love you. I want you to do everything you want to do. And I will be with you every step of the way. Did I say that I love you??? What have I got myself into http://www.melissatri.blogspot.com/

Winter Solstice 2008 - Taos Skiing

Early season skiing at Taos is a roll of the dice. However, skiing is always better than not. The temperature was cold, the wind was high and snow pack was thin. Most of the runs were closed, but it was still a good time. The trip made us crave for more. ~ Curtis

Fall 2008 - Devil's Tower, Yellowstone, Tetons, Quarts Mountain Range

Years ago, Curtis made a list of lifetime goals. To Climb Devil's Tower made the list. And, September 23, 2008 was the day. And, lucky for me, I got to go with him. It was awesome to crack climb on this amazing natural wonder. We got our inspiration from a unique and generous soul, Frank Sanders. After the climb, we spent a few days in Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons. We were mesmerized by the beauty of the scenery and wildlife, apparent by us taking 500 pictures per day. We weren't ready for our 11 day trip to end so we spent our final hours climbing in the Quartz Mountains in Oklahoma. ~Melissa

Rainier 2006

What a freaking cool trip. We had been at 14,000 before, but man we hadn't been on Rainier. We spent 6 months training for this bad boy and it took every second. The climb was a Denali / Himalayan primer with 6 days of hauling packs, moving tents and figuring out how to stay alive around massive crevasses while dodging the occasional boulder or chuck of ice barreling down the mountain. We also got to climb Little Tahoma as a side excursion (hard Buddy, loose rocks, steep slopes, tons-O-fun). Our Rainier summit was during the afternoon. There were ZERO other climbers on top. We all watched the sun drop into the Pacific Ocean. Man, it was cool. ~Curtis
